Assassin's Creed Syndicate will not launch with a companion app, it has been revealed.
Previous Assassin's Creed games have launched with apps that unlock additional in-game rewards when you play.

However, not everybody is a fan, especially when the additional chests clutter the in-game map.
In a statement to Eurogamer, a Ubisoft spokesperson said: "There will not be a companion app. For Assassin's Creed Syndicate, the team wanted to focus all their efforts on the core experience."
Ubisoft Quebec previously ruled out multiplayer for the game. The studio once again said it wants to focus on the single-player experience.

Launching for PS4 and Xbox One on October 23, and for the PC at a later date, Assassin's Creed: Syndicate takes place in Victorian London.
The game features vehicles such as horse and carriages, steam trains and boats, and also introduces a new rope dart for speedier navigation.
Players will be able to take over gang strongholds located throughout the city's seven districts, and can engage in gang-based group battles.
