The next major instalment of Assassin's Creed has been revealed to be set in 19th century London.

The November 2015 entry in the annual open-world franchise will be called Assassin's Creed Victory, according to Kotaku.


Helmed by Ubisoft's Quebec studio, the game is said to take place in London during the Victorian era and players will journey through the dirty back alleys and rattling stagecoaches of London within that time period.

Following the leak, Ubisoft issued a statement confirming the game, as well as a distaste for premature announcements.

"It is always unfortunate when internal assets, not intended for public consumption, are leaked," the publisher said to PC Gamer.

"And, while we certainly welcome anticipation for all of our upcoming titles, we're disappointed for our fans, and our development team, that this conceptual asset is now public.

Assassin's Creed Victory is likely coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Assassin's Creed Unity, which was developed by Ubisoft Montreal, debuted less than a month ago for the aforementioned platforms.

It has been hit by a number of launch bugs and technical issues, with a recent patch addressing over 300 issues.

As a result of the game's "overall quality" at launch, all season pass content has been made free for all players.
