Quantum Break has gone gold, meaning it's officially done and off to the disc-printing plants before hitting Xbox One and PC on April 5.
Remedy's creative director and the face of Max Payne, Sam Lake, posted the announcement on Twitter. Which you can seeeee here:
Now that it's gold - that's behind-the-scenes speak for 'finished' - Quantum Break will definitely be hitting shelves on its scheduled launch day of April 5. Guess Remedy wasn't lying when it said the game was nearly finished little over a month ago.
The release of Quantum Break will come with an added bonus/heartbreaking betrayal, depending on where your console-computer loyalties lie, as the Xbox One exclusive will also be coming to PC.
Okay, so normal people are unlikely to be seriously pissed off about this, but some voices on the internet have been very annoyed by the decision to bring a game from one Microsoft machine to another machine powered by a Microsoft operating system.
Regardless, Quantum Break looks to be an interesting concept - time-warping abilities, third-person shooting, an on-disc TV series of four episodes, starring the likes of Shawn Ashmore and Aidan Gillan - it's all very ambitious.
And now we don't have to wait too long to find out if Remedy has pulled it off.
