Update: Reports are suggesting the new title will be a spinoff, Far Cry Primal, set during the ice age.
Original: Ubisoft - the publisher of Assassin's Creed, Far Cry and Rayman - is currently broadcasting something mysterious on its YouTube page.
Give it a listen; there are mysterious voices, an animal growling, dripping water and a fire crackling. The cave scrawling and teaser text "Survival is timeless" suggest a prehistoric setting for the game. Any ideas?
Many are suggesting a new Far Cry game. The publisher polled fans on whether it wanted to see dinosaurs in the open-world shooter - as well as possible Wild West, sci-fi and apocalyptic locations.
Previous Far Cry settings include tropical islands, the plains of Africa, and in Far Cry 4 the Himalayas. Meanwhile, Far Cry 3 spin-off Blood Dragon had an '80s-tinged action theme, so the series has previously veered into the more fantastical.
It could, of course, be a new game franchise entirely. A date or time for the announcement hasn't been mentioned, but with the broadcast currently sitting on Ubisoft's home page, we might not have long to wait.
