The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt's first major expansion 'Hearts of Stone' has been given a release date.
Coming shortly after the game's final piece of free post-release content was released, the major update will be available from October 13.
The expansion has Geralt defeat ruthless immortal bandit captain Olgierd von Everec, in a 10-hour adventure with new characters, monsters, a new Runewords system and a story that sees you party with a ghost and recruit a team of break-in artists.
While it is yet to be given a price point, a physical edition will be available for $19.99 (£12.99) featuring a download code and two physical Gwent decks to take the in-game card battler into the real world.
One of the biggest releases of the year so far, The Witcher 3 topped the all-format weekly chart for multiple weeks when it launched in May and sold more than six million copies in six weeks.
The game is the latest in the franchise based on Andrzej Sapkowski's fantasy novels of the same name, and is said to contain 200 hours' worth of content.
