This week saw the exciting announcement from Nintendo that a redesigned 3DS will launch later this year in Japan.
The updated handheld device, which contains additional buttons and NFC functionality, already has its first exclusive game in the form of a Xenoblade Chronicles remake.
Other news this week includes new Mario Kart 8 content, Doctor Who characters entering the Minecraft universe and Amazon's acquisition of live-streaming video platform Twitch.
