The new series will be similar in nature to HIMYM, but will follow a female character named Sally (Greta Gerwig) telling her children how she met their father, along with her stories surrounding her group of friends in New York.

Tarver will play Sally's best friend and former college roommate Todd, who is now married to her brother.

The actor and Upright Citizens Brigade member recently performed at CBS's 9th annual Diversity Showcase as a LGBT participant.

He was soon signed up in a talent holding deal, before landing his first leading TV role.
