The Walking Dead's Lauren Cohan has hinted that season four will include the most "intense" episodes in the show's history.
Cohan - who plays Maggie Greene - hinted to Access Hollywood to viewers can expect some major developments as Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his crew deal with zombies over-running their prison fortress.
"I know everybody says that each season is going to be more intense, but this is actually going to be more intense," she hinted.
The Walking Dead actress also teased that viewers can expect a "slow burn" setting up hugely shocking moments in upcoming episodes.
"There's this wonderful slow burn to this season that really, really catches you off guard when something happens, because what we get this season that I don't think we've had as much of is very specific deep character development, where we go off on these little loops into these characters' lives and then you're just caught from the side with the horror," she revealed.
Cohan also warned fans against developing a "false sense of security" in the opening few episodes.
