The Walking Dead has unveiled a trailer for season four.

The first glimpse of the highly-anticipated fourth run premiered on Friday (July 19) at San Diego Comic-Con.

The preview sees Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his crew facing increasingly more zombies collecting around their prison base as they try to keep former Woodbury residents safe.

A cryptic radio message is also broadcast to Daryl (Norman Reedus), Michonne (Danai Gurira) and Tyreese (Chad Coleman), which could prove to be key to the survival of their group.

Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman recently hinted that the upcoming fourth season is very faithful to his original comic series.

"Season four probably has the most number of scenes that are adapted directly from the comic series or very close to what we did," Kirkman recently commented.
