Ahead of the 25th anniversary of Friends, we take a look back at some of the best cameos – from classic Brad Pitt to Stranger Things' Winona Ryder, Riverdale's Cole Sprouse, and, of course, our crying stripper Danny Devito.
Brad Pitt - The One with the Rumour
One of the most memorable celebrity guests to star in Friends was Brad Pitt, who was married to Jennifer Aniston at the time. He graced us with the hilariously awkward Thanksgiving episode, in which Rachel discovers his character (Will Colbert) is co-founder of the "I Hate Rachel Green Club", along with Ross.
Danny Devito - The One Where The Stripper Cries
In season 10 – 'The One Where The Stripper Cries' – DeVito cameoed as a crying stripper, Roy, hired for Phoebe's bachelorette party. The girls take pity on him and allow him to do his "sexy" dance for them.
Winona Ryder - The One With Rachel's Big Kiss
The Stranger Things star appeared in season seven playing Melissa Warburton, an old college friend who Rachel kissed after a wild night out. Melissa pretends not to remember, until a kiss from Rachel to prove it evokes a long-held love confession.
Jon Favreau - The One with the Ultimate Fighting Champion
Monica's very wealthy boyfriend in season 3 wanted to become a professional fighter – to her horror.
Cristina Applegate - The One where Rachel's Sister Babysits
Rachel's sister Amy comes to visit and moves in with her and Joey.
Ellen Pompeo - The One Where the Stripper Cries
Portrayed as Missy in Season 10, Ellen Pompeo played a former college classmate who both Ross and Chandler had a crush on.
Ben Stiller - The One With The Screamer
Rachel surprises Joey and Ross with a date (Stiller), who turns out to be an aggressive, testosterone-fuelled bully, who frightens an elderly couple.
Bruce Willis - The One Where Ross Meets Elizabeth's Dad
Action hero Bruce Willis made an appearance in a season six as Paul Stevens, the disapproving father of Ross's 18-year-old student girlfriend, Elizabeth. He also started dating Rachel, ending up sobbing into her arms and dancing and singing to 'I'm Just a Love Machine' – classic. He even won an Emmy for his role.
Jennifer Coolidge - The One with Ross's Tan
Phoebe and Monica are annoyed by their old friend Amanda (Coolidge), so they decide to try to ignore her.
Helen Hunt - The One With Two Parts
She stops off in Central Perk to order coffee from Phoebe, mistaking her for her waitress twin Ursula.
Dakota Fanning - The One With Princess Consuela
Fanning played a little girl called Mackenzie, who lived in the house Monica and Chandler wanted to buy.
Paul Rudd - The One With The Pediatrician
The Marvel star actually appeared in 17 episodes, and ended up getting married to Phoebe.
Freddie Prinze Jr - The One with the Male Nanny
He portrayed Sandy the male nanny, who cared for Ross and Rachel's baby Emma in season nine.
Julia Roberts - The One After the Superbowl
Julia Roberts played Chandler's former classmate, Susie Moss – aka "Susie Underpants" – whom he humiliated in the fourth grade. She takes her revenge in a hilariously kinky way. Jean-Claude Van Damme also guest-starred in the same episode.
Hugh Laurie - The One with Ross's Wedding
Hugh Laurie plays a man sitting next to Rachel on a plane, whose memorable closing remark is: "Oh, and by the way, it's clear you were on a break." Cheeky!
Cole Sprouse - The One with All the Candy
It seems like only yesterday the Riverdale star was meeting the Holiday Armadillo and playing pranks on Rachel. He played Ross' son Ben.
Dermot Mulroney - The One Where Rachel Goes Back to Work
Returning from maternity leave, a concerned Rachel finds Gavin (Mulroney) has replaced her. She hurries back to work, but things heat up between the two, and they eventually share a kiss in season nine.
Anna Faris - The One With The Birth Mother
Hilarious Anna portrays Erica the pregnant mother, whose twins Monica and Chandler end up adopting in several of the final episodes.
Jean-Claude Van Damme - The One After the Superbowl
Whilst roaming a film set, Monica gets the hots for Jean-Claude – however, she's too shy to approach him. Rachel tries to set them both up, but turns out he has eyes for her.
Robin Williams & Billy Crystal - The One With The Ultimate Fighting Champion
The legendary comics appeared on the famous Central Perk couch in the third season, sharing a "private" conversation that had the rest of the friends all ears.
