We're a week or two into the End Times, but if you squint, the walkers could still just be festival-goers in need of a bath. Though their eyes have become more yellow.

There's a greater emphasis placed on ruptured veins and cuts and scrapes. They've been knocked about a bit by now.

While the bodies still look relatively normal, many of the walkers' mouths have fallen apart from all that constant biting.

We're eight months into the post-apocalyptic era now. The walkers are looking considerably more gaunt.

…And their eyes are beginning to sink further into the back of the head.

There is also a greater emphasis on the discoloration and deterioration of the skin.

A little over a year after their deaths, the walkers' skins are now starting to sag and dry out.

…And their bodies are falling apart.

About 18 months of being out in the elements and being smashed to bits is really starting to show now. We see far more instances of totally wrecked zombies.

Nearly two years in, the walkers barely resemble humans, as their skeletons are more visible and barely any skin is left.

About two years in. Any clothes that remain are nearly completely torn off, and the walkers have next to no hair.

Walkers are looking weaker and their skin can be easily torn off if snagged on something. Negan even complains about his fence-guarding walkers' tendency to fall apart on the job.

Some walkers now have barnacles and branches growing out of them, like Davy Jones' crew off Pirates of the Caribbean.
