Netflix has picked the perfect day to announce that more Castlevania is on the way.

What to Read Next

The streaming giant celebrated the spookiest holiday of the year on Halloween night (October 31) by having the eternal vampire Vlad Dracula Țepeș confirm a third season of Castlevania on Twitter.

The Twitter announcement via Drac read: "Your response to season 2 truly brings a bloody tear to this ancient vampire's eye. On this All Hallows' Eve, it's my honor to officially announce season 3! Without you, this never could have happened!"

The official news came five months after series star Richard Armitage basically confirmed that more episodes were in the works in an interview with Digital Spy back in June.

"We're about to record a third," the Trevor Belmont voice actor told us at the time. "The second season hasn't been aired yet, but we're about to do a third."

Series showrunner Warren Ellis will be back for the third season, which will comprise ten all-new episodes. The series continues following Belmont and his small band of allies as they try to stop Dracula (Graham McTavish) from wiping out the people of Wallachia.

The third season commission comes just one week after the extended second run dropped on Netflix worldwide just in time for Halloween last Friday (October 26). No premiere date has yet been set for the third season.
