The one big question that Friends fans still debate today is: were Ross and Rachel really on a break when that whole Chloe thing happened?
Well whatever your opinion (we're not trying to start fights here), it's now been revealed that the famous TV couple were never actually supposed to split at all.
One of the sitcom's executive producers, Kevin S Bright, told Metro that the initial plan was to keep the couple together, but that writers Marta Kauffman and David Crane had a bit of a change of heart.
"I would say initially when [Ross and Rachel] was planned it wasn't planned that way, that came a little bit later," he said. "It allowed us to have fun with the show and give people something to root for.
"We were well aware the audience wanted to keep them together but everything that was keeping them apart – we realised when we got them together when the first kiss happened we go, 'Wow, the air has kind of gone out of the balloon'. There wasn't that sexual tension anymore."
But even though Ross and Rachel's split completely broke our hearts – as well as those of Chandler, Monica, Joey and Phoebe – Bright reckons that their break-up only made us appreciate their happy ending even more.

"I thought what Marta and David did, which was such a brilliant and brave move with their relationship, as soon as everyone got their wish the wish was taken away," Bright continued. "It made it so much better when they did get together."
So there you have it – the whole thing was engineered to make that moment Rachel got off the plane all the sweeter.
Unless you think that she should have gone to Paris for her dream job instead, but we're not going to open up yet another debate...
