"Six seasons and a movie" has become a rallying cry from Community fans, and while the cult sitcom did get its six seasons by 2015, many are still waiting on the movie.

There's been no word about a film, but Ken Jeong – who played the unstable and hilarious Ben Chang – is choosing to remain optimistic.

When asked by Digital Spy if it could still happen, the Crazy Rich Asians star said: "Never say never. I think that Dan Harmon is incredibly busy with Rick and Morty right now, but I'll always hold out hope for a Community movie."

Jeong explained that he feels he owes a lot to Community and would jump at the chance to work with Harmon again.

"If The Hangover made me famous, Community made me a better actor, and those guys were family to me," he shared. "So I would do anything for Dan Harmon and for Community, and I for one would love to do the movie. I really would, because it's a special group of people I worked with there, and they really helped to teach me the finer points of acting."

McHale said earlier this year that he is still keen but any movie would "kind of need" Donald Glover, who portrayed Troy Barnes and has seen his career massively kick on since the show.

"It would be great to do," he added. "I'd do it in a New York minute."

Crazy Rich Asians is out now in the US, and opens on September 14 in the UK. Book tickets here.
