The dust hasn't even begun to settle yet on the stunning cancelling of highly-rated US sitcom Roseanne amid a race row — but that hasn't stopped Charlie Sheen from trying to capitalise on the scandal.

For those who've been living under a rock for the last 24 hours, Roseanne Barr managed to get her sitcom cancelled (and her cast and crew of 200 fired) after tweeting a racist 'joke' about Obama administration official Valerie Jarrett.

Roseanne's own castmates criticised her, her reruns were pulled from the air, and within a few hours, she was blaming the whole thing on sedatives, but it looks like there's no chance of Roseanne being saved at this point.

Enter Charlie Sheen.

Just when it seemed this story couldn't get any more bizarre, Charlie offered a solution to ABC: fill the Roseanne-sized whole in its primetime schedule by rebooting his own former sitcom Two and a Half Men.

"Adios Roseanne! Good riddance," he tweeted on Tuesday. "Hashtag NOT Winning. The runway is now clear for OUR reboot."

The actor signed off with a #CharlieHarperReturns, a nod to his Two and a Half Men character. Before anyone even starts thinking this a good idea, may we remind them how Sheen's previous stint on the CBS sitcom ended back in 2011?

Tiger Blood, Adonis DNA, Goddesses, and Charlie transforming into Kathy Bates. Yeah, probably not the safest bet for ABC…

President Donald Trump also weighed in on the Roseanne controversy on Wednesday, and — you guessed it — very quickly made the whole thing about himself.

"Bob Iger of ABC called Valerie Jarrett to let her know that 'ABC does not tolerate comments like those' made by Roseanne Barr," he tweeted.

"Gee, he never called President Donald J. Trump to apologize for the HORRIBLE statements made and said about me on ABC. Maybe I just didn't get the call?"
