Shondaland is getting a little bit cosier with itsHow to Get Away with Murder/Scandal crossover – and now we have a first exciting look at it.
Legendary writer Shonda Rhimes has given us some formidable characters over the years, but seeing alpha females Annalise Keating and Olivia Pope lock horns is sure to be quite the spectacle.
Revealed on EW's Instagram, we can see both women in action, both sporting their well-known steely look.
Rhimes has provided crossovers of sorts before, with Grey's Anatomy stars hopping over to Private Practice and vice versa, but we've never had anything quite like this.
First, Kerry Washington's fiery fixer is heading to HTGAWM, before Viola Davis's pit-bull law teacher finds herself taking on the political might of Pope in Scandal.
Given that Annalise has become something of a spectre of death — the clue is in the name of her show — will another of our favourite characters from one of the shows be shuffling off this mortal coil in the crossover?

As two of the most loved shows that Rhimes has ever created, there are certainly those who thought we could lose more than we'd gain from a crossover – but we're sure Shonda knows what she is doing.
Keating vs Pope will take place on March 1, and you can stake your lives on it that there will be enough drama to keep us talking for the rest of the year.
Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder are airing now on ABC, along with Grey's Anatomy, in the US.
