Reminiscent of Carl and Ellie's story in Up! (without the gut-punching finale), we watch milestones of the fan-favourite's life, from high school to marriage to the birth of their child.

All seems to be going well in their lives until their cat dies; but everything turns around again with the welcoming of their child, announced a la Beyoncé.

Season 4 may not with us for "a real long time" – news delivered by Mr Poopybutthole in the season finale 'The Rickchurian Mortydate'. Adult Swim later confirmed this on Twitter.
That means a whole lot of disappointed people, as season 3 saw Rick and Morty become the biggest comedy series on US telly.
In the demographic 18-24 and 18-34, Rick and Morty officially reached the top, and its third season managed to draw in Adult Swim's highest ratings in the network's history.
And given that success, it wasn't a huge surprise to see The Simpsons drop a subtle Ricky and Morty reference in its opening title sequence earlier this month.
