Netflix subscribers have only just sunk their teeth into the animated Castlevania series, but they'll soon be getting another bite.
The streaming service's TV adaptation of Konami's gory video game series premiered on Friday (July 7) to huge raves from viewers in the immediate aftermath of its launch — but the first season is only the beginning of a longer journey.
In an interview with Cinema Runner, executive producer Adi Shankar revealed: "Let's remember that this is just season one.
"And not only has season two already been greenlit, but the episode order has been doubled to eight episodes. So the chapter definitely hasn't fully closed on this story."
The Castlevania series features the voice of Outlander's Graham McTavish as Count Dracula and Hannibal's Richard Armitage as Trevor Belmont, a reluctant vampire hunter.
Battlestar Galactica's James Callis and Once Upon a Time's Tony Amendola also lend their voices to the animated miniseries from Warren Ellis, who previously worked on G.I. Joe: Resolute and the Marvel Anime shows.

The success of Castlevania has already given Netflix the confidence to hire producer Adi Shankar to adapt Assassin's Creed into its own spin-off animated series as well.
