Assassin's Creed has already hit the big screen and now it's coming to your TV screens too.

What to Read Next

Adi Shankar, the creator of Netflix's Castlevania show, has announced on Facebook that there will be a spin-off show based on the popular gaming franchise, specifically an anime series, and it will be an original story.

"I'm happy to let you guys know that I've selected my next project! I played the first edition of Assassin's Creed the year I moved to Los Angeles to pursue my dream," he wrote.

"At that moment I knew absolutely no-one in the industry and could never have imagined that one day Ubisoft would ask me to take the world of Assassin's Creed and create an original story set in it as an anime series.

"If anyone tells you not to follow your passion in life they are wrong."

Shankar's Castlevania animated series, based on the retro Konami classic, will be launched on Netflix tomorrow (July 7), with a second season to come in 2018.

It will follow the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont Clan as they try to save Eastern Europe from Dracula, with its first trailer hinting at a very bloody, explosive series as they fight towards that goal.

Shankar also produced Dredd and said earlier this year that a Dredd sequel will "happen at some point", although it might not be live action.
