The Walking Dead might have said goodbye to Glenn in dramatic fashion when he was brutally killed by Negan in the season seven premiere, but if Steven Yeun – who played Glenn – could be brought back into the story somehow, he wouldn't be against it.

"I will leave it open to what makes sense," he said (via The Daily Telegraph). "I wouldn't want anybody to force anything but if it makes sense, then I am totally down."

Some fans think that with Glenn's last words being "I'll find you" to Maggie, it means that there's a chance he could make a return to the series – and the idea of Glenn returning in flashbacks or something similar has certainly been raised before.

But, after seemingly ending his time on the show, Yeun is in a reflective mood, as he spoke more about how thankful he is to be a part of the hit zombie drama.

"I owe The Walking Dead my whole start," he said. "I was doing theatre in Chicago, sketch comedy and improv, and then I moved to Los Angeles and that show opened the door to let me in to the business.

Speaking soon after his character Glenn's gruesome death on The Walking Dead, Yeun did admit the whole thing was pretty savage – but recognised that it will stay in people's minds.

"Maybe we did it too far," he said back in April. "It was pretty bad, but we did it and people remember it, so it's cool.

"It was gory, but it wasn't any more gory than anything that we've shown before. That's great that Glenn can have that type of place to affect people like that. I mean – sorry, but mission accomplished."

The Walking Dead airs on AMC in the US and on FOX in the UK.
