The Independent reports that Fox currently has no plans to bring the reboot back, but isn't yet ruling it out. The decision apparently largely depends on lead star Corey Hawkins's availability as they want him back.

"We were so happy with the creative on that show. We think Corey Hawkins did a great job – replacing Jack Bauer was no easy feat," explained CEO Dana Walden.

She added that Fox will soon sit down with 24 executive producer Howard Gordon to see where the reboot could go in a potential second season, with a return "seriously considered" if there's a strong enough idea.

Following the season one finale, executive producer Manny Coto teased where a season two could lead.

"It's impossible to do a season 1 without throwing out ideas for season 2 in the room. There's definitely some cool ideas for season 2 on the table and where we'd like to go – a completely different direction from season 1," he outlined.

"Finding Eric in a different place and definitely with a role for Tony Almeida, possibly even playing the same role for Eric that he played for Rebecca or even on Donovan. We definitely want to see Tony back. I, personally, would love to see Chloe."

Hawkins also told us that he's definitely keen to do further seasons of 24: Legacy as the character "speaks" to him.
