Fans of The Blacklist can rest easy now because the thriller isn't going anywhere.
The James Spader-led drama has been picked up by NBC for a full 22-episode season to premiere in the fall, according to Entertainment Weekly.
This renewal comes in spite of sliding ratings for the current fourth season, which dropped from highs of 15 million viewers in earlier years to 9 million over the last several months.
While The Blacklist will stick around for at least one more season, the fate of its spinoff The Blacklist: Redemption is far less clear at the moment.
The Blacklist: Redemption generally has averaged 6 million viewers over its freshman run , obviously much less than the slipping ratings of its parent series over the current season.
Redemption brought over The Blacklist character Tom Keen (Ryan Eggold) to work with a private military organisation fronted by his mother Scottie Hargrave (Famke Janssen) in catching the world's most dangerous criminals.

The Peacock Network is expected to make a decision on the future of The Blacklist: Redemption ahead of its annual Upfront presentation to the press next week.
NBC has made a slew of cancellations and renewals recently, ordering more of the Taken TV spinoff, Chicago Fire, Chicago Med and Chicago PD in the last 48 hours alone.
Unfortunately, science fiction thriller Timeless and DC Entertainment's first-ever half-hour, live-action comedy series Powerless have both been dropped after their freshman seasons.
