The fate of the US might just depend on notorious 24 villain Tony Almeida.
While there's no Jack Bauer in the latest teaser for 24: Legacy (or in the upcoming series at all), there is a brief cameo from one of the TV show's all-time best baddies.
Desperate times call for desperate measures as former Army Ranger Eric Carter (Corey Hawkins) and ex-CTU boss Rebecca Ingram (Miranda Otto) race against time to discover activation codes for bombs all across the US.
"I want your approval to mobilise a special agent," Rebecca asks CTU's current director Keith Mullins (Teddy Sears).
The teaser then closes with a brief shot of Tony Almeida (Carlos Bernard) entering a prison meeting room wearing a scary-as-hell scowl.
Originally a brave CTU agent in the original 24, Tony notoriously turned his back on Jack Bauer and his former allies to work with terrorists in a quest for revenge.

His involvement in Legacy is the strongest tie to the established 24 universe, since Kiefer Sutherland will not be returning for this new series.
Interestingly, co-creator and executive producer Evan Katz recently revealed that 24: Legacy was not initially devised to take place in the Jack Bauer universe.
"My writing partner Manny Coto and I, we didn't start out with that idea," he recalled. "At some point, someone said, 'this could be 24'. It really evolved."
24: Legacy premieres on Fox following the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 5. It will air on Tuesday, February 14 at 9pm on FOX in the UK.
