If you watched episode 3 of The Walking Dead's seventh season, you'll no doubt still have that terrifyingly upbeat song 'Easy Street' in your head - the one that was used to torture poor Daryl...

Throughout 'The Cell', Daryl is subjected to various torture techniques while locked in Negan's compound, but the worst is the constant playing of the far-too-chipper song by The Collapsable Hearts Club.

Earlier on today, it had already risen up to number 21 in the iTunes downloads chart and it's continuing to surge, now sitting at number 15 on the iTunes UK top 100 song downloads.

It's ahead of songs from Kelly Clarkson, Drake, Luke Bryan and even 'Daddy Lessons' by Beyoncé.

The Collapsable Hearts Club appears to be a collaboration between Petra Haden, Jim Bianco and Brad Gordon.

Writer Bianco spoke about the song's involvement with the show, telling The Independent: "Exactly how the song got into their hands is a mystery to me. But when they heard it, the show reached out and asked to use it.

"I didn't really understand why a show like The Walking Dead would want to use such an upbeat, over-the-top, in-your-face 'happy' song but now I understand – to torture someone, of course."

The Walking Dead continues next Sunday in the US and Monday night in the UK on FOX UK at 9pm.
