It's fair to say The Walking Dead is having a bit of a moment right now, so it's no surprise that stars are after a part. Even if that part is short-lived.

This time, it's TV and film actress Maria Bello, known for her stint in ER and performances in The Coolers and A History of Violence, who's put herself out there for a role.

Chatting to People, Maria admitted that she'd do pretty much anything to be a part of her "favourite" show. And it seems connections really are everything, as it's now pretty much a given that Maria will be making an appearance next season.

"I am obsessed with the show," she said. "I have a friend who's a producer on it and I've asked them to write me a part, which apparently they are for next season."

So, there we have it. It's (kind of) official. But what kind of role can we expect to see Maria take on?

Well, she's not fussed as it turns out. "I said, 'I'll just come out and play a zombie for an episode, I don't care!' But it is my favourite show."

The Walking Dead airs tonight (October 31) at 9pm on FOX in the UK. It continues next Sunday at 9/8c on AMC in the US, and follows in the UK on FOX the following night.
