It's finally been confirmed - Daredevil's The Punisher is getting his own TV spinoff series, which is heading straight to Netflix.
It was only a matter of time really, after Jon Bernthal thrilled fans with his casting as The Punisher – Frank Castle – in season 2 of the Marvel series.
Former Walking Dead star Bernthal will be reprising his role for the solo outing with Hannibal's Steve Lightfoot serving as showrunner on the series, according to EW.
Marvel and Netflix are forming quite the partnership, with The Punisher series making their sixth collaboration so far.
Obviously, there's Daredevil, and a second season of Jessica Jones is in the pipeline along with the upcoming Luke Cage spinoff, The Defenders miniseries and Iron Fist.
Bernthal recently admitted he wanted to reprise the role should the series get picked up, saying the "character is in my bones now" and he had ideas for where he could take him.
