Grimm is definitely coming back next season – but probably in a reduced format.
NBC ordered a sixth season of the Sean Hayes-produced supernatural drama on April 5 – but now reports suggest its episode order will be slashed.
What to Read Next
According to Deadline, Grimm could go from a traditional 22-episode season to just 13 instalments once NBC renders a final season.
A reduced order would be useful in fitting in all of NBC's eight returning dramas into the primetime schedule next year.
Announcing the cult hit's renewal two weeks ago, NBC president Jennifer Salke said: "We absolutely love what our producers and cast have accomplished over the past five seasons.
"They have created a whole new world of creatures and have a truly devoted fan base. We can't wait to see what comes next."
The long-running hit blends the often-gruesome characters of the Grimm brothers' fairy tales into modern Portland.
Created by Blue Streak's Stephen Carpenter, Buffy the Vampire Slayer's David Greenwalt and Angel's Jim Kouf, Grimm has aired on NBC since Halloween 2011.
