Mel B has admitted she was too scared to perform on Lip Sync Battle in the US.

The current host of the UK version of the series was asked to perform, but "got a little bit too scared" - which is rather a surprise from the former Scary Spice.

She told This Morning: "I'm not used to lip syncing for a start and figured if I did it, I'd probably mess it up, because it's actually nerve-wracking."

She is co-hosting an eight-episode version of the series in the UK, featuring names such as Johnny Vegas and Vic Reeves, but there's one person in particular she wants on the stage.

She told The Sun: "I'll definitely ask Simon [Cowell]. It's not like you get judged - we're much more of a fun, cooler environment."

Lip Sync Battle UK airs on Channel 5 tonight (January 8) at 10pm with David Walliams and Alesha Dixon battling it out. Watch a preview below:
