The Flash boss Andrew Kreisberg has teased how the shock events of the season finale will impact the show going forwards.

In the finale, Eddie (Rick Cosnett) kills himself to wipe Reverse-Flash from existence, saving his friends in the process.

Kreisberg suggested that the surviving characters will struggle to get over Eddie's death.

"Eddie was a large part of everyone's life," he told Deadline.

"He and Iris spent a year and a half together, and he died for her. Joe has lost a partner, and Barry has lost a friend.

Kreisberg added of Eddie's exit: "Having someone do the ultimate sacrifice ups the life-and-death stakes.

"At the end of the day, [Eddie] dies knowing he is a hero. He eliminates Eobard from existence."

The showrunner also confirmed that Tom Cavanagh, who plays the Reverse-Flash / Dr Harrison Wells, will be a part of the second season, but refused to share details.
