The Blacklist has promoted Hisham Tawfiq to a series regular.

Tawfiq plays Dembe Zuma - Raymond Reddington's bodyguard - on the crime drama, and will be part of the main cast for the third season, reports Deadline.


The character has appeared on the show since the pilot in 2013.

The Blacklist stars Megan Boone as Elizabeth Keen, an FBI profiler who works with Red (James Spader), taking down some of the most dangerous criminals in the world.

Diego Klattenhoff, Harry Lennix, Ryan Eggold, Amir Arison and Mozhan Marnò also feature in the cast.

The Blacklist airs on NBC in the US and Sky Living in the UK.
