A showrunner for The Flash has suggested that Wally West or Bart Allen could be making their way into the TV series.

Greg Berlanti revealed during the show's panel at PaleyFest that the producers are looking to bring other versions of the fastest man alive into the series for its second season.

"That's our hope," Berlanti said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "We've already been picked up for a second year. If we were going to do something like that, we'd do it next year."

In the comic book series, Barry is only one of the people who has gained superhuman speed through the speed force.

Wally West was the original Kid Flash before becoming the third Flash, while Bart Allen is the second Kid Flash.

The panel also saw the team discuss the potential impact of time travel on the series. The concept will be explored over the next few episodes as Barry considers travelling back to save his mother's life, potentially altering Team Flash permanently.

"There are concerns that if certain events change in the past, it will change who everyone is," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said. "What's really interesting about that stuff to us is what's emotional about it."

The series will also address why Detective West's (Jesse L Martin) wife has yet to be seen and what has happened to the metahumans being kept in STAR Labs' prison.

Recent new trailers for The Flash have given viewers a glimpse of Mark Hamill as The Trickster and Liam McIntyre as Weather Wizard.
