Damon Wayans Jr has announced his decision to exit New Girl.
The 32-year-old actor, who portrays the role of Coach, plans to finish out the Fox show's current fourth season before departing, reports TVLine.
"We love Damon and are so lucky to have had him return for the past season and a half," New Girl creator Liz Meriwether said.
"We are working on crafting an exit for him that will leave the door open for many more returns."
The Let's Be Cops star became a series regular in 2013 after appearing in the show's pilot episode.
New Girl has yet to be picked up for a fifth season by Fox.
Series star Zooey Deschanel recently announced her engagement and pregnancy.
