Amanda Plummer has been cast as a "twisted" villain in The Blacklist.

The actress is appearing in an upcoming episode as Tracy Solobotkin, described as someone who has "very, very dark impulses".

Executive producer John Eisendrath told TVGuide.com: "[Tracy is a] very unexpected, small, fringe person who has her own very, very dark impulses.

"Once she realises that the life she's been living is a lie, it completely turns her in a direction that is incredibly dark, and in her twisted mind, justifies [her] actions."

Plummer, a three-time Emmy winner, has featured in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Pulp Fiction.

The Blacklist, starring James Spader and Megan Boone, airs on NBC in the US and on Sky Living in the UK.
