Virgin River has confirmed the release date for its sixth season, with fans not having to wait too long.
The Netflix show follows the lives of various characters in the titular town, with Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) being at the centre of the action.
Following the airing of the fifth season last year, production was halted on its follow-up for various reasons, but the official media channels for the show finally confirmed the release date for its long-awaited sixth season.

“We’ve missed them so much! Get a first look at what’s ahead in season 6. Counting the days until Virgin River comes back,” read the post on Instagram, which confirmed that the series would return on Netflix on December 19.
The post also included several new photos of the cast, with Breckenridge, Henderson, Tim Matheson, Annette O’Toole, Kai Bradbury, Sarah Dugdale, Colin Lawrence, Kandyse McClure, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Teryl Rothery, Mark Ghanimé, Zibby Allen and Marco Grazzini all being pictured in character.

While fans will be transported to the world of Northern California in the coming months, Breckenridge and Allen – the latter of whom plays Brie Sheridan on the show – recently teamed up for a podcast, I Like You Very Much, with the project being inspired by their “genuine admiration for each other.”
Virgin River seasons 1-5 are streaming now on Netflix. Season 6 premieres on December 19.
