Criminal Minds is to get a new spinoff series.
The as-yet untitled show will be penned by the CBS procedural's writer Erica Messer and will go into production in February.
The new show will be planted during episode 19 of the crime drama's current season, where viewers will meet the characters of the spinoff.
It will follow a division in the FBI that helps American citizens who find themselves in trouble abroad, and will likely have a whole new cast from its parent show.
The new series will be CBS's second attempt at a spinoff of Criminal Minds.
In 2010, Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior starring Forest Whitaker premiered but was cancelled after 13 episodes.
