NCIS Hawai'i star Sharif Atkins has landed his first role since the show's cancellation in new Apple TV+ series Me.
The actor, who played Captain Norman 'Boom Boom' Gates in the CBS series, will star in the upcoming coming-of-age drama.
Me focuses on middle-school kid Ben, who must adjust to a newly blended family alongside the realisation that he possesses superpowers.

"Throughout the 10-episode season, Ben goes on a journey of self-discovery and learns what having superpowers truly means," the synopsis adds.
"He finds an ally in his stepsister, Max, who helps him harness these powers and uncover the secrets behind the mysteries and tragedies of his community… all while he tries to come to terms with what it means to be Ben."
Atkins will take on the role of Darren Kennedy, with the show also set to star Encounter's Lucian-River Chauhan as Ben, as well as Arrival's Abigail Pniowsky, Second Chance's Dilshad Vadsaria, Miss Juneteenth's Amanda Reid, Pulse's Jessy Yates and Orange County's Kyle Howard.

The 10-part series comes from Vantage Point's Barry L Levy and is due to premiere on July 12.
NCIS: Hawai'i was cancelled earlier this year after three seasons, and CBS Entertainment’s Amy Reisenbach recently opened up about the reason for the axing.
"I'm a big fan of TV first and I sympathise and relate to all the fans out there who are disappointed in the fact that these shows are ending," she told Variety.

"But at the end of the day, our job at CBS is to make those really tough calls. We toss and turn and have sleepless nights and have endless discussions but we look at all the numbers.
"We look at what our projections are for the future, we look at where we see opportunities to potentially have even bigger success on the schedule. And we make those tough decisions."
Me will stream on Apple TV+ from July 12.
