An update has been provided on the progress of the final episodes of Yellowstone, with production now back underway.
The Paramount+ show has had an elongated farewell, with the first part of its fifth and final season premiering way back in November 2022.
The remaining six episodes have been on ice ever since, with SAG-AFTRA and Writers Guild of America (WGA) strikes in Hollywood causing production to be delayed for several months, leaving fans anxious about its final run.

With a target release date of November 10, fans were eager to see that production would start soon in order to meet the deadline, and they now have their wish after it was confirmed by Paramount Network that the show had resumed in New York today (May 20).
The final episodes will be without lead star Kevin Costner as John Dutton, with the actor departing the series after electing to pursue his own western project, Horizon: An American Saga.

In a recent interview, Costner explained that his departure was caused by executives at Paramount, explaining: “Well, I haven’t felt good about it the last year, what with the way they’ve talked about it. It wasn’t truthful. So now I’m talking a little bit about what the real truth of it was.

“I made a contract for seasons five, six and seven. In February, after a two or three-month negotiation, they made another contract. They wanted to redo that one, and instead of seasons six and seven, it was 5A and 5B, and maybe we’ll do six.
“They weren’t able to make those. Horizon was set in the middle, but Yellowstone was in first position. I fit [Horizon] into the gaps. They just kept moving their gaps,” he added.
Yellowstone streams on Paramount+. Season 5 part 2 will premiere on November 10.
