Doctor Who's Mandip Gill will team up with Bancroft star Sarah Parish for a new crime thriller.

The pair have been cast in Paramount+ drama Curfew, which is set in a society where all men live under the 'Women's Safety Act' (via Radio Times).

The dystopian world sees men being bound by a strict curfew from 7pm to 7am every night, as well as being tracked by ankle tags 24 hours a day. However, despite these stringent conditions, one woman is not kept safe.

"When a woman's body is discovered, brutally murdered during curfew hours and left on the steps of the Women's Safety Centre, veteran police officer Pamela Green believes that a man is responsible. But in a world where men are bound by the curfew system, her theory is rejected," reads the show's official synopsis.

Parish is set to play lead police officer Green, while Gill will portray Sarah, an employee at a local tagging centre at the heart of Green's investigation.

The cast also features Mayflies star Mitchell Robertson, who will play rookie cop Eddie, as well as X Factor winner Alexandra Burke — who is set to become Helen, a "well-intentioned local school teacher and advocator for the curfew."

Paramount+ commissioning editor Paul Testar added: "Curfew is a gripping addition to our UK originals slate for Paramount+. We are excited to be collaborating with the team at Vertigo Films and a brilliant cast to bring this propulsive thriller to life."

Curfew doesn't have a release date yet.
