It's the grand final of the BBC gymnastics contest, and the remaining contestants will be pulling out all the stops to impress the judges.

Sarah Harding, Amelle Berrabah and H from Steps are all among the finalists - will it be a popstar that takes the crown? Or will Bobby Lockwood, Carl Froch and Lucy Mecklenburgh have something to say about that?

The eighth series of the sci-fi drama has had its fair share of dark moments, but in tonight's Steven Moffat-penned instalment, the scares are unleashed good and proper.

As The Doctor and Clara encounter ghosts from their past and futures, something frightens the lone Time Lord like nothing before. Watch with the lights on. And listen.

Having impressed the judges in a tiny audition room, it's time for contestants to take to the stage in Wembley Arena and showcase their talent (or lack thereof) in front of nearly 5,000 people.

But if it all goes pear-shaped, at least they'll get a sympathy hug from Dermot O'Leary - surely almost as exciting a prospect as the recording contract on offer.

Boardwalk Empire: Sky Atlantic, 9pm


The fifth and final season of HBO's slick period drama kicks off tonight, with a time jump of seven years and America's era of Prohibition nearing its end.

But there are new struggles for Atlantic County treasurer Enoch "Nucky" Thompson (Steve Buscemi, above), with the Great Depression sweeping America primary among them.
