The Fast and the Furious director Justin Lin is reportedly in talks to direct several episodes of the second season of HBO's True Detective.
Lin is being lined up to direct at least the first two episodes of the season, Deadline reports. He would succeed Cary Fukunaga, who directed all 8 episodes of the first season.
Lin is best known for directing four instalments of The Fast and the Furious franchise. He has prior experience working in TV, having directed several episodes of Community and also the pilot for upcoming CBS series Scorpion.
With the exception of creator and writer Nic Pizzolatto, the upcoming season of True Detective is expected to feature an entirely new cast and crew.
Rumoured cast members include Colin Farrell, Taylor Kitsch, Vince Vaughn and Elisabeth Moss.
Pizzolatto was forced to defend his creation after the show was criticised for its portrayal of women.
