Boardwalk Empire's final season will air on HBO this fall.
The pay channel announced at the TCA Press Tour today (July 10) that season five of Boardwalk Empire begins on Sunday, September 7.
The show's fifth season will be comprised of eight episodes.
A trailer for Boardwalk Empire's final run debuted last month, and featured corrupt political figure Nucky Thompson (Steve Buscemi) walking alone towards a horizon.
Taglines for the new episodes include 'All empires fall' and 'No one goes quietly'.
Boardwalk Empire will jump forward in time seven years in its final season.
