DS Ronnie Brooks (Bradley Walsh) has a new partner as series eight begins tonight. Played by newcomer Ben Bailey, DS Joe Hawkins is recently transferred from child protection services and has a sensitive style of questioning which Brooks finds difficult to deal with. However, Bailey soon proves his worth and it looks like a friendship between the two may blossom.
The team then find a dead jewellery dealer, minus his hands and teeth, and the hunt for the killer begins, with far-reaching consequences.
