Nikita star Shane West has been cast in WGN America's Salem.
The witch-themed series stars The Tudors' Tamzin Merchant and Fringe's Seth Gabel.
Salem is set to explore the famous witch trials that took place in 17th-century Massachusetts town, The Wrap reports.
The series will showcase "a bold new vision of Salem, and an even bolder new vision of witches".
West will play a veteran named John Alden who returns to the town after ten years following the fight of a difficult war.
His character is described as handsome and tough with wry-humor.

Upon his return, West's character will have to deal with locals on a witch hunt.
They will be led by Gabel's Cotton Mather, with Merchant set to play an artist and possible love interest to West.
A premiere date for Salem has yet to be announced.
