The Vampire Diaries will return to ITV2 later this month.
Season five of the hit supernatural drama will premiere on Tuesday, October 29 at 9pm, the broadcaster has confirmed.
The first episode of the new season is called 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' and begins with Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) moving into college dorms following a summer enjoying her passionate relationship with Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder).
The show only returned in the US earlier this month and has so far aired two episodes on The CW.
Meanwhile, The Vampire Diaries spinoff series The Originals will air on Syfy in the UK.
The show, based around the Mikaelson siblings Klaus, Elijah and Rebekah, will premiere on Tuesday, October 22 at 10pm.
