Meryl Streep’s role in Only Murders in the Building has been confirmed, with the star to return for the fourth season.
The legendary actor had a guest role in the third season as Loretta Durkin, a struggling actress who begins a relationship with Oliver (Martin Short).
As reported by Deadline, Streep will reprise her role in the upcoming season, which will see the central trio of Oliver, Charles (Steve Martin) and Mabel (Selena Gomez) travel to Los Angeles before returning back to The Arconia.

Streep’s return will be welcomed by Disney Television Group President Craig Erwich, with the executive praising her performance as he said: “I thought she gave one of the best television performances of the year last year. I’ve listened to that song she has sung probably a dozen times. I can never get tired of it.”
“Well, I’m very excited to see Steve, Martin and Selena take a little break from the apartment building and come to Los Angeles,” said said Erwich of the upcoming fourth season.

“So in the same way that [co-creator] John Hoffman used the canvas of Broadway to tell what I think was one of the most unique seasons you’ve ever seen, the same unique Only Murders take will be applied to Los Angeles, which I’m really excited about.”
“This is one of those shows everyone involved in it is so happy doing it – and I know I speak for the trio and everyone else,” added Hoffman.
“When you have lightning in a bottle in this way, and then there's this magnetising force of incredible talent who say, 'Wow, that looks like fun. I would love to be a part of that.' I hope it gives it a good long life.”
