Connie Britton missed an Emmys reunion with fellow American Horror Story star Dylan McDermott due to adverse weather conditions.

It was all set for the two stars – who portrayed Vivien and Ben Harmon in AHS season one, Murder House – to present an award at the postponed 2023 Emmy Awards, which took place last night (January 16) at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.

However, McDermott ultimately flew solo when presenting the award for Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie to Steven Yeun for his portrayal of Danny Cho in Netflix's limited series Beef.

Britton unfortunately had to miss the AHS shenanigans as she had to travel back early to New York for hew new TV miniseries Zero Day. A rep for the star confirmed to EW that her trip was brought forward due to the forecasted snowstorm reported to hit the East Coast.

In LA, McDermott was joined by ceremony host Anthony Anderson dressed in a Rubber Man body suit in an impromptu appearance.

"Is it me, or does this place seem... haunted? It's almost like somebody's watching me," McDermott said on stage, before realising this new version of Rubber Man was just behind him.

"Oh no, not this dude, again," he then said.

McDermott, who appeared in three more series of American Horror Story as well as reprising the role of Ben in an episode of American Horror Stories, paid tribute to the show's creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk.

"We would not have American Horror Story, a winner of 16 Emmys, without the series creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk," he said.

American Horror Story airs on FX in the US and Disney+ in the UK, where seasons 1-9 are also available to buy on Prime Video.
