Marvel's What If...? season 2 has been given a release date alongside a brand new trailer.
The sophomore run of the animated series, which tells the stories of the various Multiverse variants of some of Marvel Cinematic Universe characters, will premiere on December 22.
One episode will drop per day on Disney+, with the ninth and final episode of the season expected on December 30.

The trailer (which you can watch above) shows us that Peggy Carter's Captain Carter and Eric Killmonger's Black Panther are back from season 1, while we're also getting riffs on Shang-Chi. Thor's dad Odin thrown into the mix, and Ant-Man, who has taken up fencing.
Two of the standout bits from the video include the heroes taking part in a competition on Sakaar, smashing their vehicles into each other for the amusement of the Grandmaster. That and Happy Hogan and Darcy Lewis trying to deal with an Avengers Tower takeover at Christmas.

There is also a new MCU character called Kahhori, who looks like they might be an integral part of the season.

A third season of the show was confirmed back in 2022, when season 2 was scheduled to drop in early this year. It looks like season 3 is still happening, despite the delay, which would make sense given how Multiverse-focused the MCU is lately.
Meanwhile in the MCU, the latest Marvel Studios film, The Marvels, released last week to solid reviews but another underwhelming box office debut for the franchise.
What If...? season 2 premieres on December 22 on Disney+, where season 1 can be watched now.
