House of the Dragon season two has confirmed its release window and fans don't have too long to wait.
Fans of the Game of Thrones prequel series were already expecting the next instalment to air this summer, but it's now officially been announced it'll premiere on HBO/Max in June.
The head of global streaming and games for Warner Bros Discovery, JB Perrette, shared the news at a media conference on Monday (March 4). However, an exact release date is still unknown.

While production on many other shows and films were put on hold last year due to the SAG-AFTRA strike in Hollywood, House of the Dragon was able to continue filming.
This was due to the fact the majority of the season two cast are members of UK union Equity instead of SAG-AFTRA.

"British law forbids them from staging a sympathy strike. If they walk, they have no protection against being fired for breach of contract, or even sued," Game of Thrones author George RR Martin explained last year.

While House of the Dragon's first season, which follows the Targaryen Family nearly 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, consisted of 10 episodes, season two is set to be condensed into eight.
"There are eight wonderful episodes with so much happening in every episode, and we have trouble, at times, bringing them down to one hour," director Clare Kilner told The Hollywood Reporter.
"[Showrunner Ryan Condal's] decision was to give it a good opening and a good ending, and they're jam-packed with emotional and visually exciting events."
House of the Dragon airs on HBO in the US, and on Sky Atlantic and NOW in the UK. Game of Thrones seasons 1-8 are available on DVD and Blu-ray.
