The Witcher is coming back for its third season (aka the final outing for Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia) at the end of this month after a year and a half wait.

Fans were kept satiated by the prequel series Blood Origin, and it looks like Netflix is keen to have more spin-offs to keep things trucking on in-between future seasons of the main show, which will star Liam Hemsworth as Geralt.

Steve Gaub, the Executive Producer of The Witcher's third season, opened up about the possibility of more spin-offs to come in an exclusive interview with Digital Spy, revealing: "We like the concept of what we’re doing with Blood Origin where it’s a limited series that has a sort of great opportunity to fill in blanks, and to enrichen the depth of our storytelling.

"Blood Origin – I mean, it’s in the name. But it’s to tell origin stories within a limited series that you don’t feel you have the weight of an entirely different series."

He continued: "But it serves a great purpose. And also for our fans to be able to schedule those out within our Witcher seasons is incredible for them because they have a little bit more of a steady diet of a property that they’re enjoying."
