Kaley Cuoco has looked back on her "serious" horse accident during her time on The Big Bang Theory.
The Flight Attendant star played Penny on the CBS comedy created by Chuck Lorre, which ran between 2007 and 2019.
Shortly after starting working on The Big Bang Theory, Cuoco suffered a riding accident that could've left her with an amputated leg.

"When [the horse] stepped on me – and I remember clear as day, cause it takes a second when something is that bad – I was like, 'Did I just fall on a whole [pile] of leaves?' because I heard all the cracking," she said during an appearance on the SmartLess podcast, hosted by actors Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett.
"It took me like five or 10 seconds to actually realise it wasn't just 400 leaves, it was my bones."
Cuoco also explained she had to sign some documents, agreeing not to sue if the doctor had to amputate her leg during surgery.
"Luckily I came out and I [was fine]," she said.
Following the operation, the star remember being nervous having to call Lorre and tell him she wouldn't be able to walk for three months, consequently missing days on set.
However, Cuoco was "back to work" within two weeks in what she described as a "miraculous" recovery.

Cuoco will next be seen on the small screen on crime comedy Based on a True Story, opposite Chris Messina and Tom Bateman and executive produced by Jason Bateman. The series also stars Good Trouble's Priscilla Quintana, Scream VI's Liana Liberato and Stranger Things' Natalia Dyer.
In the show, Cuoco plays a realtor called Ava Bartlett. She and her former tennis star husband Nathan (Messina) are obsessed with true crime, teaming up with a plumber (Bateman) to cash in on the craze.
Based on a True Story season 1 premieres in its entirety on June 8 on Peacock.
